Ph.D., University of Virginia Scott Hunsaker is an associate professor of educational foundations and of gifted and talented education in elementary education. His research targets professional decision-making in gifted and talented education. His publications have focused on teacher belief systems and practices and on gifted identification instrumentation. More recent research has dealt with issues related to advanced reading abilities and appropriate classroom practices to help advanced readers continue to make gains. Methodologically, he specializes primarily in qualitative studies and program evaluations.
